two games at once... yikes

Many people will know that Pong is a bit boring now. The same thing applies to Breakout. So your solution is to make the player play both at the same time. Well, I am pleased to say that it works.

My problem (which is not the game's fault) is MULTITASKING! I'm male, so for me it just cannot be done. All I can do is watch the breakout area one second, and the pong area the next. A recipe for disaster in the long run, because as I prevent myself from losing pong, I've just lost Breakout! NOOOO!

Despite my incompetence at this game. I like it. Just imagine the potential madness if there was a keyboard game to play as well. I dread to think...

You get better at it the more you play matthew, try starting out on easy then after you get the hang of it move onto medium or even hard mode :).

decent but boring

Well, it's a breakout game that works, which earns points for a start.

But apart from that, there is nothing to keep people interested. Only three levels, no ball speed-up, no power-ups and no special blocks make this one of the dullest breakout games I have ever played.

I would suggest making the ball speed up over time (but PLEASE don't overdo it), adding more levels, and maybe adding a few special blocks, e.g. some that release power-ups, some that require more than one hit to destroy, etc.

You have the ability to make a breakout game, as I have seen. And I'm sure that adding a few features cannot be too hard for you. Good luck if you decide to make a new version.

I agree with you mate, the problem is that I don't have enough time at the moment. But I will look into it.

Thanks for a good review!

a GOOD tribute? Impossible...

There are loads of Impossible Quiz tributes, but until now, none of them were actually any good (although giuocob's quiz was somewhat decent).

This one's actually addictive, just like the original two. Not quite as superb, but then again what is?

And boy, killing that fish at the end was hard...

Hi5er responds:

Well, I must say i'm glad you like it x]

and I tried to make the last question as hard as possible,
as it was kinda like the finale to the whole quiz.

so yeah... :P

Actually quite good

I must say that, despite the odd concept, this is a pretty fun game to play. Fairly easy to learn, well-designed, and so on.

Not something I think will become really popular, though.

smokinjoeevil responds:

I actually created it as an entry to a contest (you may have seen the big, orange button on the menu screen). It hasn't gotten feedback as positive as I had expected... but I can't figure out exactly why. Is it just the graphics? Is there something else about it that doesn't make it as noteworthy? I was going for an RTS type of feel, but most people have compared it to the "time-management" sort of game-genre... which I, personally, can't stand. Things like the hot-dog-stand, or the hospital, or the hotel you have to manage and run... trying to do this or that as fast as you can and keep a bunch of digital nobodies happy.

Anyway... I am ranting. If you can think of anything specific that would have made it a better game, I'd be grateful to hear your input. Just PM me.

Thanks for the review.

too hard to start and no game over

This is certainly an interesting idea, but an idea that definitely needs more work. The game is too hard for beginners and there is no 'GAME OVER' screen, you just keep losing lives until you choose to quit.

Juvi008 responds:

The game was a lot harder...but I kept getting that same reaction "its really hard"

so this is the easier version.

I guess I didn't make it so you could get a game over because I want people to beat this game with a few tries, if you had to start all the way over each time I know I wouldn't even bother trying again.

but thanks for the review.
