Quite fun, but ridiculously tough

This game is quite fun to play, but in terms of difficulty makes even "The World's Hardest Game" seem like a walk in the park. The ball moves so fast and the controls are so sensitive, my reactions aren't nearly fast enough to finish each level without dying at least ten times. That combined with the fact that I get frustrated easily, makes the overall game experience more stressful than enjoyable.

I eventually gave up on level 39 after dying about 100 times. :-(

looks good, but doesn't feel quite as good to play

Recently, I have been waiting for an excellent flash racing game. However, I am sad to say that the wait continues.

The best part of this game is the graphics, which are probably the best of any flash racer I've seen so far. The feel of the game, however, is the main thing that stops this being great. It's not bad, but the handling is too twitchy, the AI too basic, and a lack of features all add up to stop me from really enjoying this game.

Don't take this too badly; it's VERY hard to make a good racing game, particularly in Flash. I still think that this game is enjoyable to some extent, so I'll give you credit for that.

Best NG game of 2008

I will admit, I've never been a big fan of this type of game, but this game had me hooked until I beat it (BWAHAHAHA).

The game may take ages to load (17.9 MB?? OMG), but it is more than worth the wait. The game feels so professionally done, it feels just like the kind of game you would buy (AND enjoy). The graphics are perfect, the voices convincing, and the gameplay gripping until you destroy the Earth (or are brought to justice). About the only thing missing is replay value.

In all, probably the best game on Newgrounds this year. Just - brilliant. Now if you'll excuse me, I need to make plans for what to do now I've destroyed the Earth...

two games at once... yikes

Many people will know that Pong is a bit boring now. The same thing applies to Breakout. So your solution is to make the player play both at the same time. Well, I am pleased to say that it works.

My problem (which is not the game's fault) is MULTITASKING! I'm male, so for me it just cannot be done. All I can do is watch the breakout area one second, and the pong area the next. A recipe for disaster in the long run, because as I prevent myself from losing pong, I've just lost Breakout! NOOOO!

Despite my incompetence at this game. I like it. Just imagine the potential madness if there was a keyboard game to play as well. I dread to think...

Ab9003 responds:

You get better at it the more you play matthew, try starting out on easy then after you get the hang of it move onto medium or even hard mode :).

decent but boring

Well, it's a breakout game that works, which earns points for a start.

But apart from that, there is nothing to keep people interested. Only three levels, no ball speed-up, no power-ups and no special blocks make this one of the dullest breakout games I have ever played.

I would suggest making the ball speed up over time (but PLEASE don't overdo it), adding more levels, and maybe adding a few special blocks, e.g. some that release power-ups, some that require more than one hit to destroy, etc.

You have the ability to make a breakout game, as I have seen. And I'm sure that adding a few features cannot be too hard for you. Good luck if you decide to make a new version.

I agree with you mate, the problem is that I don't have enough time at the moment. But I will look into it.

Thanks for a good review!

a GOOD tribute? Impossible...

There are loads of Impossible Quiz tributes, but until now, none of them were actually any good (although giuocob's quiz was somewhat decent).

This one's actually addictive, just like the original two. Not quite as superb, but then again what is?

And boy, killing that fish at the end was hard...

Hi5er responds:

Well, I must say i'm glad you like it x]

and I tried to make the last question as hard as possible,
as it was kinda like the finale to the whole quiz.

so yeah... :P

Just when I thought there was nothing better...

I am truly amazed at how good this game is, considering the standard of the original it had to live up to.

The questions make more sense, and the quiz is easier to complete basically but harder to master...

And yes, Q67 is a nightmare. (Thanks BDD3.)

Not impossible, but SO addictive

AARRGGHH!!! Pain...from...completing...such...HAR D...quiz...

Thanks to you, my life is now ruined. But I don't care, I like this quiz so much...

This is now officially my favourite flash game on the web. Except for the sequel.

no game, no score

Um, if I may ask, WHERE'S THE GAME?

I don't know if it's a glitch or if the game's just not there, but without a game to play, this can only get a zero.

Actually quite good

I must say that, despite the odd concept, this is a pretty fun game to play. Fairly easy to learn, well-designed, and so on.

Not something I think will become really popular, though.

smokinjoeevil responds:

I actually created it as an entry to a contest (you may have seen the big, orange button on the menu screen). It hasn't gotten feedback as positive as I had expected... but I can't figure out exactly why. Is it just the graphics? Is there something else about it that doesn't make it as noteworthy? I was going for an RTS type of feel, but most people have compared it to the "time-management" sort of game-genre... which I, personally, can't stand. Things like the hot-dog-stand, or the hospital, or the hotel you have to manage and run... trying to do this or that as fast as you can and keep a bunch of digital nobodies happy.

Anyway... I am ranting. If you can think of anything specific that would have made it a better game, I'd be grateful to hear your input. Just PM me.

Thanks for the review.
